The X Games take over Austin’s Circuit Of The Americas (COTA)—a 1000-acre multipurpose facility and America’s only Formula 1 racetrack—through June 8 for activities sure to thrill action-sports enthusiasts and sports fans alike. More than 150 athletes from around the world participate in contests from skateboarding to BMX, but we’re paying close attention to Puerto Rico’s Moto X phenom Tarah Gieger (seven-time racing and Enduro X champion medalist and AMA Female Rider of the Year in 2007) and Brazilian skateboarder Leticia Bufoni (six-time X Games medalist). We can’t wait to watch these girls and the rest of the athletes bring the heat in Austin. Attendees can also jam out to live music at the massive X Music concert series, featuring 42 bands and artists including Kanye West, Gary Clark Jr. and Mayer Hawthorne. There’s also a movie theater for cooling off and go-kart racing. In other words, there’s no shortage of fun in the Lone Star State this week.
