These days it seems everyone wants a piece of model and blogger Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty. And for good reason: She's got beauty, brains and a killer work ethic. This season, both Volcom and women's brand Kenny were inspired by the fashionista, infusing her East Coast-meets-West Coast style into their fall collections.
"The most important thing for me when coming up with designs is that each piece is completely wearable," says Suarez of the Volcomunity collection she helped design, which includes a studded vegan leather vest, pleated skirts and a bright coral trench dress.
Where her line with Volcom is all about practicality, she inspired a much more free-spirited vibe for Kelly designer Lindsay Sternberg's collection, full of bright floral prints, slouchy netted tanks and angelic mini dresses. "I used Natalie as my muse," says Sternberg, who collaborated with Suarez on the theme and styling of the lookbook. "Kenny got me back to my California roots," says Suarez. "We shot the lookbook barefoot, with white horses."
So is Suarez slotting any actual off-duty time into her busy schedule? "First, I'm collaborating with my sister on a new adventure: creating a line of shoes!" she says. Someone get this girl a raise.
