Bombay Express de Chanel

Chanel’s India-inspired Pre-Fall 2012 Metiers d’Art fashion show was incredibly opulent, but thanks to Chanel makeup creative director Peter Phillips, it provided some easily-translatable-to-real-life makeup. The just-released Bombay Express de Chanel collection was used by Phillips to create bold, graphic eyes and porcelain skin (accompanied by some pretty kick-ass jeweled headpieces).

The golden Rotes des Indes de Chanel highlighting powder is embossed with a rare brocade fabric from a 1960s Indian-esque collection Coco Chanel herself designed, while the pale gold Diwali nail polish is inspired by the traditional Indian festival of lights of the same name and is the perfect neutral to wear off the catwalk along with smoky kohl-rimmed eyes.
