The forward thinking swimwear line VIX partnered with non-profit bottled water company Nika to create Agua Pura Brasil (Pure Water Brasil), a charity initiative hoping to bring clean water to people living along the Amazon River and celebrated with a launch party last week at the historical La Valencia hotel in La Jolla.

For just $11, Agua Pura Brasil can bring one person access to clean drinking water, changing the future of their health and wellbeing. At the launch party, $22 donations were collected and 100 percent of each guest's donation went o provide two people with fresh water. Both Nika Water and Vix are trying to raise $50,000, which would bring healthy water to 4,500 citizens of the Criancas do Amazonas (Children of the Amazon). The event also featured a silent auction and live performances from local San Diego folk band Rodello’s Machine, and Brazilian guitarist Marauak.
