Go surf! International Surfing Day is now official!

The California Assembly just officially declared International Surfing Day June 20. World champions Kelly Slater and Steph Gilmore are the day's ambassadors. Events are popping up all over the world to celebrate.

Surfing has officially been "legalized"! On Monday, the California State Assembly passed House Resolution No. 30, which recognizes June 20 (today!) as International Surfing Day. It's not just an excuse for you to hit the waves—it also celebrates California's deeply-rooted surfing heritage and raises awareness about the need to protect of oceans. Kelly Slater and Steph Gilmore are this year's ambassadors.
