Gone are the days of ratty gym shorts, hand-me-down crewneck tees and grungy, cotton sports bras. These days, fitness apparel is all about cute cuts, high-quality stretch material, fun patterns and all-in-one functionality. Here, 10 companies to check out:

1. Roxy, Roxy Athletix
The fun and flirty Roxy surf company introduced an Athletix line a few years ago. They offer feminine cuts, colors and butter-soft fabrics. I am also a huge fan of wearing Roxy boardshorts to hot yoga class.

2. Lululemon
I don't think I’ve met anyone who isn’t in love with Lulu’s fun patterns, simple but genius designs, secret pockets, and luxurious fabrics. I wear my Boogie shorts and Hot ’n Sweaty shorts almost as soon as they get out of the wash. Check out the No-Limits tank too—it has a built-in sports bra. So cute!

3. Lorna Jane
This Australian fitness line's mantra is "Move, Nourish, Belive." They use hi-tech fabrics and inspirational screen printed quotes on their super cute feminine designs.

4. Forever 21
Affordable sports bras, tights, tanks and shorts at about six to 20 dollars a piece. Good for your body and your wallet.

5. Nux
Makers of my most beloved sports bra.

6. Morris Terry (MTX Sport)
Fitness meets fashion meets comfort. You’ll want work out and live in their fold-over tie-dye shorts and crops.

7. American Apparel
The Scrimmage crop top, cross-back cotton bras, cotton shorts and sweats are always in rotation.

8. Nike. Under Armor. Adidas.
I don't think I need to elaborate. Classics forever!

9. Brazilian brands
The makers of the Brazilian bikini know how to cut and sew high-quality Lycra Spandex in sexy cuts and vibrant colors. Ki Korpo, Bia Brazil, and Brazil Bazar are a few that I know of and love. They're hard to find, but totally worth it!

10. Prana
Yoga heaven. Don't pass by their headbands!
