Los Angeles might not be hailed as an artistic epicenter, but the Hammer Museum's newest exhibit seeks to give this city a little more cultural cred. Made in LA features the work of 60 local artists, in various mediums including video, installation, performance art, painting and sculpture. While LA's vast size makes it hard for even extremely talented artists to reach their full scope, the Hammer exhibit brings together LA's rising and established creators from all corners of the city in a unified showcase of their work. Along with a variety of public programs and events, from July 13 to 15, Venice Beach will play host to The Venice Beach Biennial," a tongue-in-cheek reference to the real deal in Italy.

Made In L.A. runs from June 2 - September 2, 2012. For more information, visit
