There is something nostalgic about a Polaroid picture and the memories each frame holds. Combine that with a classic California beach that has been a surf mecca for the last half century and you have the Surfing Heritage Foundation’s upcoming exhibit, The Happy Bums from San Onofre. The re-discovery of a collection of 150 black and white Polaroid photographs taken of families at San Onofre beach by Don Davis in the 1960s is the basis of the exhibit, and showcases the culture of San Onofre State Beach that extends past the waves and into the vibes of the community that surfs them.

The exhibit will run from August 5-October 28, 2012 at the Surfing Heritage Foundation, located at 1110 Calle Iglesia in San Clemente, California.
