We received so many submissions to our "Search for FOAM's Next Health & Fitness Blogger" call, we weren't sure how we were going to choose! But 21-year-old Naomi Kiyalah Iwabuchi personifies much of what FOAM stands for: a healthy, happy lifestyle, a love for surf and a sense of adventure. Meet your newest Health & Fitness blogger now:

Introduce yourself!
My name is Naomi Kiyalah Iwabuchi and I'm 21 years old. I’m originally from Kensington, Connecticut but I’ve been living in Honolulu, Hawaii for the past five years. My roommate and I rent a small two bedroom studio apartment in Palolo Valley that we've lovingly named "The Honeycomb."

Why should our readers listen to you as a H&F blogger?
My father died from stomach cancer when I was 11 years old, and it was then that I realized that there is no price that can be put on health. Even before then, I've always been an active person and have been fascinated with how movement can transform the human body. Fitness, whether it be through sport or practice, can really provide an outlet for self expression and it not only strengthens your body but also your mind. I think I look at fitness and health from a different perspective and want to share my philosophy with people who just need a little inspiration to get themselves started. A body in motion stays in motion, but it's nice to have a little nudge every so often.

What are your favorite workouts?
Surfing, hot yoga, pilates, hiking, skateboarding, boxing, taekwondo, dancing and occasionally running. So, pretty much all of my workouts! I wouldn't want to repeatedly do anything I didn’t enjoy.

What's your favorite healthy meal?
So many ! I love to eat, but my diet is vegetarian so I don't eat any meat. I love fruit, so my favorite healthy meal would be an Acai bowl, which are very popular in Hawaii. Acai is a brazillian palm berry that has a rich, almost chocolate-y flavor and is chock full of antioxidants. In an Acai bowl, the berries are blended with bananas and juice to create a thick smoothie, which is then topped with flax granola, sliced bananas, berries, coconut flakes, honey and bee pollen. It's like heaven in a bowl. I also love lentil soup, sushi (I'll occasionally indulge in a little bit of fish), veggie burgers, pizza, kale and papaya seed salad and quinoa/cucumber/feta salad.

Guilty pleasure?
Shakira! And designer bikinis.

Workout motto
"Remember why you started" and "Go hard or go home."

Stay tuned for Naomi's weekly guest blogs in Health & Fitness!
