April marks the start of the American Pro Surfing Series (APSS), a triad of competitions aimed at highlighting amateur surfers who aren't part of the ASP World Tour, but still want the opportunities and experiences of competing domestically.

Taking place in surfing mecca Huntington Beach (where else!), the events will be hosted on the South Side of the pier in late April (the first event window is April 25th through April 29th), and will conclude in the fall at the end of September and early November.

The series will not only support progressive surfers, but also celebrate them, and the sport of surfing as a whole. Aside from getting the chance to have some healthy, competitive fun, female contestants are eligible to win up to $2,000, and males up to $10,000. Register at by April 4th and get amped!
