Drifting Arrows, the new swimwear line from designer Leah Lawrence, is steeped in personal history—and adventure. As a kid, Lawrence bounced around with her parents, calling Swaziland, Seattle and Maui home. Her parents' roving nature and her childhood spent on "beautiful beaches and bumpy back roads," were the foundation for the line. "I have always been inspired by my parents' unconventional attitude towards travel and seeing the world," she says," and I wanted to evoke that thought."

An intentional contradiction, the line's name is supposed to invoke movement and wandering without aim, "traveling without a set destination." The four simple silhouettes do just that, hinting at cultural references, but never fully wedding to them. Clever drawstrings create unlikely, and yet relentlessly classic lines in a sophisticated, rich and dark palette. Their simplicity suggests one thing for certain: with these suits, you'll be ready for anything.
