LA Story

Maybe the closest East L.A. has to a country road, the northern stretch of Echo Park Avenue is now home to a new housewares boutique called the Echo Park Country Outpost. Décor accents like a shingled wall, threadbare rug and mounted longhorn let a visitor know he’s not in Kansas anymore. In addition to stocking the best of Western-style antiques du jour—such as vintage Pendleton, arrows, outdoorsy books and pine incense—the Outpost also plays host to weekend hootenannies (er, concerts) and curates its wall space with paintings by local artists.
