Freeskier Sarah Burke
Canadian freestyle skier Sarah Burke passed away today at 9:22am at the age of 29 in Utah, a result of injuries sustained during a skiing accident last week.
Sarah was the face of her sport with four Winter X Games championship titles, a true groundbreaker who pushed the boundaries of freestyle skiing and paved the way for female athletes to follow. She was an important force in lobbying to add superpipe skiing to the Winter Olympic Games program, an event we were looking forward to watching her win. She will be sorely missed, and all of FOAM's love and support goes out to her family and friends.
