We have a major crush on TED. The nonprofit, which is devoted to "ideas worths spreading" by hosting talks from some of the brightest minds in the world, made science, history and learning "cool" again (though we still say it never went out of style in the first place!). Everyone from the founder of 4Chan to a talking African Grey parrot to FOAM Girl Crush and double leg amputee Amy Purdy (read her story now) have hosted talks at TED conferences around the world.
If you've always wanted to attend a talk, here's your chance. Footwear company Olukai presents a live web broadcast of TEDxMaui on Sunday, starting at 11am PST at Olukai.com, straight from the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului.
The presenter line-up stars:
-Paula Fuga, Hawaiian recording artist
-Maui Taiko, Japanese drumming group
-Elizabeth Kapu'uwailani Lindsey, PhD, the first Polynesian explorer and female Fellow in the history of the National Geographic Society
-Susan Casy, Editor-in-Chief at O Magazine
-and many more!
Tune in and get inspired- be sure to tell us about your favorite speaker!
