Barlow
Fashion runs through designer Molly Girard Coonan’s veins—literally. Partnering with muse Alice Barlow, the granddaughter of design icon Alexander Girard and Cynthia Vincent protégé, has put her creative genes to the test with Barlow, a line of classic sportswear styles mainly reworked in leather. The LA-based design team describes their work—including low-cut purple mini-dresses and fringed moto-jackets in materials like lambskin and embossed pitone snakeskin—as a combination of “tomboy and vixen.” It’s an appropriate description for the shiny short-shorts, open-backed distressed vests and skin-tight exposed-zipper dresses that are tough-as-nails sexy.
