Howl

True, everyone loves a hero—but there’s always something compelling about the bad guy. Keyla Marquez of LA-based clothing line HOWL certainly feels the draw to baddies: The inspiration for her Spring/Summer collection comes largely from her favorite movie villains. Hey, for pieces like dark, deconstructed dresses with hems that splay out to resemble bat wings and cotton tanks with slouchy hoods (for quick disguising perhaps?), we’d play dirty too. But, as evidenced by her rainbow-patterned vests, Marquez isn’t all about the dark side of fashion. “My goal is to make magic and to make people feel they can fly to the middle of the Milky Way!” she declares. That’s a tall order that we can’t wait to see her fill.

Available at Welcome Hunters LA and Echo Park Independent CO-OP (E.P.I.C).
