"I grew up with three older brothers and a Dad who all surfed in a sleepy little town called Gerroa, on the south coast of of New South Wales, Australia. I started surfing with them when I was about six but it wasn't long before we started doing surf holidays and competitions, often driving as far as the Gold Coast. Some of my best memories come from those long trips up the coast with the family, leaving home at 2am and driving up to 12 hours along the east coast. We were on a mission and that is where I credit a lot of my competitive drive from (pardon the pun)."
