Claire Bevilacque in ESPN Magazine's Body Issue

Some girls tape pictures of the Victoria's Secret models on the fridge to motivate themselves to get fit. We're taping pictures of the women from ESPN The Magazine's "Body Issue" on there instead.

This month's spread features some of our favorite role models like snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler and surfer Steph Gilmore baring all in their birthday suits– finally proving that big thighs, strong arms and flat chests can look way sexier than a size 00 body.

The stunning portraits are accompanied by candid interviews that demonstrate how even women with some of the best bodies in the world have deep-seeded insecurities about their looks: USA goalkeeper Hope Solo used to make excuses to get out of lifting weights because her strong shoulders kept her from feeling feminine.

Lest you think the article is some sort of pity party, the women rebound by discussing how confident they are now that their bodies have propelled them into international fame and success.
