Take a trip to Polynesia with Fran
François Nars is as renowned for his eponymous line as he is for his work as a photographer. A continued fascination for being behind the lens has led to the publishing of the French artist’s fifth photography book, Faery Lands, Tahiti (Rizzoli, $100).
Armed with a large-format camera, Nars spent more than twelve years photographing his own private island off the coast of Bora Bora, Motu Tané, in addition to the surrounding archipelagos. Compiled and designed by legendary art director Giovanni Bianco, the result is a collection of Nars’ strikingly composed images that reflect a keen observation of the tropical paradise and its local populations—and the landscape that has informed his makeup line for more than a decade. Complete with its own slipcase, the exquisite hardback would be a prized addition to the collection of any style, travel or culture enthusiast.
