There was a bevy of swimsuit models that flooded the beaches of Miami over the course of Miami Swim Week for one #foamy reason: to debut swimwear that we will be lusting after until it finally becomes available in 2017. What’s that saying? Absence makes the heart grow fonder? While the shows ranged from cute summer vibes to badass rock and roll looks, we couldn’t help but find some style cues from the shows to hold us over until these pieces are available for purchase. More after the
hunk…err, we mean jump.
The Brand: Maaji
The Look: Summer Pool Party
Talk about fun in the sun! Maaji encapsulates the term “Summer Fun” in her collection, using bright colors and playful accessories that make us want to throw a pool party stat. Get the look by accessorizing with colorful sunnies and serious arm candy.
The Brand: Frankies Bikinis
The Look: Hippy Fresh
If there is one thing we can appreciate, it is a fashion show with a message. Going full force with the 70s flower child vibes, Frankies pulled out their best accessories to enhance their “peace for all” message. Cop this look by adding a sleek choker and adding some flowers to your long locks or using temp tattoos (because why not!).
The Brand: Anna Kostuova
The Look: Earth Goddess
We have always been a fan of crocheted swimwear but we’ll be honest, we never thought about pairing it with a slightly more mesh-weave version. Anna Kostruova pulled off the earthy vibe without making the trend seem old and instead gave it a fresh makeover that we can’t get enough of. Cop the look by adding a crochet coverup over your favorite bikini or a cute knit sweater if the weather permits.
The Brand: Beach Riot
The Look: Rocker Meets Femme Fatale
Keeping their iconic sleek silhouettes in tow, Beach Riot gave their 2017 collection a sexy rock and roll vibe. Plenty of hats ranging from fedoras to newsboy caps were seen on the runway and chic chokers a were used to elevate the look. Both trends are super in right now, so cop the look by adding them ASAP to your beach look. Super into it.
The Brand: Blue Life
The Look: Effortlessy Cool
Planet Blue’s trades in the boho vibes for a more minimalist approach to swimwear. We saw sleek cuts in solid colors with minimal cut outs and/or hardwear. We love how the leg is cut slightly higher to really show off those legs. Get the look by dressing up your solid bathing suits with classic hoop earrings and a denim jacket.
The Brand: For Love and Lemons
The Look: Parisian Elegance
Just when we thought For Love and Lemons couldn’t take any more of our money, they pull this out! We love the feminine ruffles (never going too kid-like!) and modernized 90’s styles (that crop top with a cut out is a winner). Get the look by dressing up your bikini with a neck tie and espadrilles.
