When Chromeo sings: “We can work it night by night,” they aren't lying. Last night, the energetic crowd– a perfect hybrid of hipster-and-Hollywood music lovers– worked Drai’s as DJ Metric, DJ Fashen, and the kings of Chromeo threw a dance party that demanded some fancy footwork.

With the increasing popularity of electronic music, artists have been popping up in venues all over town, performing DJ sets and giving audiences a musical sampling that shows their appreciation for an entire spectrum of sound. Attracting a fan base under the Chromeo name, P-Thugg and Dave 1 spun records from their favorite artists, brilliantly weaving in their own hits– lighthearted party bangers like “Tenderoni” and “Bonafide Lovin"– while showcasing a dedication to their signature synth styling.

But it was the harmonious energy on the twelfth floor of the W Hotel in Hollywood that made it feel like the floor was moving to every hit of bass. As the crowds spilled outdoors towards the rooftop pool, Chromeo’s knack for melding classic '80s pop songs with contemporary dance hits kept the party going until the wee hours of the night. And why not? When it comes to rising stars, there's no better way to enjoy them than under a Hollywood sky.
