What is a normal day like for you at PacSun?
My primary position at Pacific Sunwear is Style Editor over the blog; however, I also help oversee our blogger outreach program for up-and-coming social users that are building their foundation in the fashion community. As far as what a normal day consists of, I'm not sure if I have one! A blog is about delivering new information that not only caters to our brand but also to our users on a day-to-day basis. One day I may be putting together a trend report or an online lookbook for the blog and the next day I may be interviewing a musician or designer. Every day is breath of fresh air.
Why did you start blogging?
One of my good friends created a blog about two years ago and forced me to sign up for an account one day. I'm so thankful that she did! I believe that this was an extension of my need to be connected with what I love to do.
Describe your style.
I know that everyone always throws out the "I don't have a specific style" line as a safety net to this question, but I have such a difficult time putting a label on what I wear. My staple is typically a platform shoe and a mess of rings. In fact, I just got my second scolding from the DMV for driving in my Lana the other day. Overall, I love to push the limits with clothing. You'll see me in a lace maxi, Harley tee and Dr. Martens one day and a fitted blazer, cut out button-down and platforms the next.
Favorite places to shop?
This is a tough one because there are too many! LF, Topshop, ASOS, Nastygal.com, Solestruck.com, Wasteland, American Rag, Urban Outfitters, and the Rose Bowl Flea Market are a few.
Favorite pieces in your closet?
At the moment, my favorite pieces are my sheer black maxi skirt by Cheap Monday, my black Clelsea Shearling Coat by UNIF, and my Tardy platform by Jeffrey Campbell.
Best style advice you've ever heard?
The best style advice that I've ever received would probably be as simple as "who cares." Confidence is so crucial when you step out the door because it can be the difference between you wearing the clothes and the clothes wearing you.
Favorite trends for the fall?
One of my favorite trends this fall is the maxi in its continued state, specifically the duster coat. A few other favorites include high-low hems, high slits and platforms.
