As if California's very name wasn't already close to synonymous with surf, this weekend may prove that the Golden State is really, truly stoked on the sport.
After record-breaking crowds swarmed the beach during the U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington, one of the world's most famous breaks is preparing for equally unfaltering enthusiasm as San Onofre State Beach Lower Trestles plays host on the seventh stop on the 2011 ASP World Tour.
