Come Saturday the 21st it’s officially summer! So what does that mean besides unpacking all your short-shorts and bikinis? Loading up on the right arsenal of SPF products and after-sun essentials. And no, one bottle of sunscreen really doesn’t cut it.

Typically you’ll want a separate formula for your face and body-especially if you’re someone with at all sensitive skin. Look for a higher SPF for your lovely visage, such as Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream+ Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ For Face or Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen SPF 55. Be really good by treating your most delicate areas-your eyelids-to a special product. SkinCeuticals recently launched its Physical Eye UV Defense SPF 50, the highest SPF for that area on the market; for a double whammy it also acts as a primer for makeup. (If you want further motivation for protecting those peepers check out this statistic: The area represents only one percent of the skin on your body, but is where 10 percent of all skin cancers occur.) And don’t forget Softlips’ new Cube lip balm, which features shea butter and SPF 15.

For the body, we’re lifelong fans of Sun Bum’s no-residue Continuous Spray SPF-which ranges from SPF 15 to 70-and are loving Coola’s Sport SPF 50 Unscented Sunscreen Spray. Adventurous types should test out the frequency-enhanced UV Neutralizer drinkable drops from Harmonized H2O, which contains vibrational messages imprinted onto water molecules that, when imbibed, communicate with cells in the body and create SPF 20 level of protection for two hours. No mess!

Post sunbathing, slather on Eau Thermale Avene’s After-Sun Repair Lotion, a cream-gel formula that prevents moisture loss and helps minimize peeling. Bottom line: if you want to worship the sun, you better get your arsenal ready.
